Well it has been a long time since my last blog, about a year exact, Oh holy moly I can't believe it has gone by so fast!
The studio is great I have been able to expand my business which was the goal and I am hoping to continue to do so through the next several years. Pic or Treat is my annual Halloween shoot and is always a blast we had 5 clients last year and 10 this year and I hope for 20 next year. I just love the little ones in their costumes. I am thinking of bringing another photographer to share the space with me next year so its more affordable. I am also focusing on my Wedding marketing. I really want to provide that service to more clients this year.
I added a little baby girl to the family in September. She is tiny and sweet and so good to me. She likes to sleep so I actually get some rest too. Adding a new baby to the growing business definitely has not made things easier but I could say more interesting. I had the busiest Fall in years and I attempted to take a few weeks to do nothing but baby. That didn't really work for my clients thought so I was back to work 7 days after she was born. I just have never learned to say no.
My son started preschool and he is so cute. He sings songs from class and is going to sing in the Christmas Program with the other little ones. One day I asked him to sing me a song and he said sure mommy and in a voice like an angel she sang: "Like a Good Neighbor State Farm is There" I will never forget it!
I will be photographing a Christmas party and story reading with Santa a local school on Dec 20. I am really excited about it. There is no profit involved but it is good exposure and it will be fun to capture such a wonderful moment for these children.
I'm still in shock the year is at its end. I have been so blessed I just want to pass on best wishes to everyone for the coming year! This years resolution is to blog more frequently I hear from my facebook friends I am quite hilarious. I will be following this post with some new images from the year.

A step in the right direction

I am very excited.
I had the pleasure of meeting another local business person, opening a beautiful wedding venue this spring. The Corbin Mansion located on Spokane's lower south hill . It is one of Kirkland Cutters finest. The owner has taken emaculate care of this local historic treasure. There are some exterior repairs being made to the porch railing but overall its condition is impressive. In our meeting we discussed the opportunity for myself to display my fine work in the mansion. This is a great way to get out my name Real Life Photography by Rachelle Flatt and potentially gain clientel. I will be doing a commercial bridal shoot there next week. It will be used for advertising on the website and possible other media. If anyone is interested in the fine venue I have the contact information an can arrange a tour. There will be a booth at this January's bridal Expo and featured in some local bridal magazines. Please spread the word about this amazing up and coming wedding venue and me Real Life Photography

I am Rachelle Flatt

I have lived in Spokane most all my life. I still find new places and things here; which amazes me every time.

I have a wonderful firefighter husband that works equally hard helping out at home as he does at work. My son Owen is two , and he makes my heart smile in a way i never thought possible.

I earned my AAS photography degree from sfcc in 2005. Photography has been a love of mine since i can remember. I have been doing weddings, family portraits and seniors through word of mouth since 2002.

I actively interned and assisted with a local photographer Gregory Mordick from 2002-2006

After the decision to stay home with our son I left the regular 9-5 job world. Ultimately it lead me to persue my original passion and dream to capture peoples lives.

I look forward to sharing wonderful memories with my clients.
